Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to understand how tasting foods affects the body’s early insulin response and blood sugar regulation.

Detailed description of study

The Monell Chemical Senses Center is recruiting male participants for an in-person research study examining how tasting foods affects the body’s early insulin response and blood sugar regulation.

Participation involves two study visits at the Monell Chemical Senses Center (3500 Market Street, Philadelphia). Both sessions occur in the morning. 10 hours fasting is required prior to both sessions.

Visit 1 (about 1 hour): Body composition (with / without DXA scan) and taste test
Visit 2 (about 3.5 hours): Consumption of a juice drink, blood collection through an IV, and questionnaires

Participants will receive $125~150 for completing both visits. SSN is needed to receive compensation.
