Precision Depression Adalimumab Trial (PDAT)
Brief description of study
The Precision Psychopathology +Dynamic Immunopsychiatry (PPDI) Lab is looking for people who are currently experiencing depression to participate in a clinical trial designed to measure the effect of an anti-inflammatory medication (Simlandi/adalimumab-ryvk) on persisting depression symptoms in people already taking an anti-depressant.
Detailed description of study
If eligible, participants will receive FREE injections of Simlandi or placebo every 2 weeks for 2 months at Penn’s Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. The study treatment and all tests and visits required are provided at no cost to you. You will receive up to $175 in compensation for your participation, in addition to reimbursement for parking.
The study team will discuss additional study requirements with you if necessary. In addition to biweekly injections of Simlandi or placebo, participants will complete an online survey (<5 minutes) every day.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Age: 18 years or above

Gender: All
You may be able to participate in this study if you:
- Are 18 years or older
- Are diagnosed with Major depressive Disorder (MDD) and are currently experiencing symptoms
- Have been taking a stable dose of Lexapro for at least 2 weeks
- Have no immune-related disorders
- Are willing to receive physician-administered injections
