Brief description of study

This study will investigate the implications of loading on Achilles tendon health. To do this, we will evaluate Achilles tendon structure and function using ultrasound imaging, motion analysis, strength testing, EMG, and wearable sensors.

Recruiting age-matched healthy controls

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 35 years - 65 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion

  • Age 35-65
  • No underlying musculoskeletal foot/ankle pain or disease
  • Be able to understand and provide written informed consent 

Exclusion

  • Diagnosis of Achilles tendinopathy, tendinous, or tendinitis
  • BMI of 40 or greater
  • History of Achilles tendon rupture
  • Connective tissue disorders such as Elhers-Danlos
  • Current or previous use of oral steroids
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding in past 12-months
