To determine if blood biomarkers are associated with the development of cancer or cancer recurrence or the development of late effects of interventions to decrease cancer risk (such as prophylactic oophorectomy) in individuals at high risk for the development of breast, ovarian, pancreatic and other cancers based on family history or genetic susceptibility.
To evaluate whether tumor markers, genetic variants and/or blood biomarkers are associated with certain risk profiles that can be used to provide measures of health status or well being, as well as to better understand the basic biology of breast and ovarian cancer in individuals at high risk for these diseases. The primary outcome variable is biomarker identification and analysis. The secondary outcome variable is cancer risk as related to tumor markers, genetic variants, and/or blood biomarkers.
