Brief description of study

PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION:
This study examines the effect of changes in cigarette package color on smoking behaviors and toxin exposure when using low nicotine content (LNC) cigs. We will recruit and randomize 500 daily, non-menthol smokers in a 35-day protocol. After a 5-day BSL period of smoking their own brand, PPTs will enter a 30-day period when they will receive either their own brand, or LNC cigs in 1 of 4 types of packaging: gray, red, blue, or plain. PPTs will attend sessions (n=8) at the CIRNA every 4-6 days.
