Brief description of study

  1. Establish a scalable reference library of anatomical 3D maps of the thoracic duct in healthy individuals
  2. Map lymphatic vessel 3D molecular maps of the tissue sample obtained during thoracic duct-venous re-anastomosis surgery to 3D cross-sectional (MR and/or CT) imaging of the region of interest 3. Coordinate with the HuBMAP Consortium to share data, materials, and protocols, and to collaborate on common data generation. The research study is being conducted to better understand the human lymphatic system, which has been historically understudied. Our goal is to establish 3D cellular and molecular maps of lymphatic vessel to fill the knowledge of the gap in mapping the human body at cellular resolution. MR Lymphangiography of the central lymphatic system as well as harvesting of the speciment of the thoracic duct during thoracic duct-venous anastomosis surgery and transferring to the BIDMC for further analysis in 3 patients
