Brief description of study
The study compares FAM-HELP to standard HELP for preventing delirium and related complications. Patients 70 and older along with their family/caregiver will be enrolled. HELP is standard care at HUP using interventions such as multicomponent nonpharmacologic strategies targeting delirium risk factors. FAM-HELP provides similar interventions, with family/caregiver augmenting HELP based protocols, along with providing emotional support and reporting signs of delirium.
