Brief description of study
The research study is being conducted to better understand the effects of ketosis on brain functioning after three separate 3-day dietary interventions and the acute effects of alcohol during three separate MRI and lab visits after consuming about 4-5 alcohol beverages.
Detailed description of study
If you agree to join the study, you will be asked to complete the following research procedures:
· A consent/ screening visit that consists of a medical history/ physical exam with a clinician, routine bloodwork, urine drug screen, and questionnaires to determine eligibility.
· Receive three, 3-day dietary interventions: (1) ketogenic diet, (2) control diet, and (3) control diet with daily ketone supplement drinks.
· Three identical lab visits, with a brain MRI, alcohol beverages (4-5 standard drinks, based on your body weight), breath alcohol measurements, questionnaires, assessments, and finger sticks to measure blood glucose and ketone levels.
Your participation will last for approximately 10 weeks, depending upon scheduling restrictions.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Inclusion criteria
· Age 21 years to 50 years old.
· Willingness to provide signed, informed consent and commit to completing study procedures
· Reported on at least one day in the month prior to consent of consuming 2 or more standard alcohol drinks on a single day.
