Brief description of study
PURPOSE:
The objective of this project is to test the efficacy of solriamfetol for treating insomnia (alone and in combination with CBT-I). Ultimately, this study will test whether wake extension (regardless of how it is achieved) will consolidate sleep and improve sleep continuity. Patients administered solriamfetol will have significantly greater improvements in sleep continuity (total wake time [TWT]) from baseline to post-treatment compared to patients administered placebos. Note: the study is powered for this hypothesis. 1. Patients treated with CBT-I will have significantly greater improvements in sleep continuity from baseline to post-treatment compared to patients not administered CBT-I.
2. Patients treated with CBT-I in combination with solriamfetol with have significantly greater improvements in sleep continuity from baseline to post-treatment compared to patients treated with CBT-I alone.
