Brief description of study

Join a paid research study on health information on social media!
The research study is being conducted to understand how health information and misinformation is shared and interacted with through Facebook wall posts, Twitter posts, and Google and YouTube searches. We’re interested in learning more about how people use information on social media and what people find the most interesting and useful.

Why is my digital data important for this study?
Online activities can improve our understanding of health and wellbeing. Your participation could help us understand how digital data can be used to tailor public health messaging.

Detailed description of study

If you agree to join the study, you will be asked to complete the following research procedures: complete a short survey, share Facebook data with researchers, and complete 2 additional surveys over a 2-month period. You will also be asked to share public Twitter + Google and YouTube search history data, but this data share is optional.
To protect your privacy, the information you share will be stored securely and used only for research purposes (never shared with outside agencies).

Your participation will last for 2 months. You can be paid up to $75:
  • $25 for sharing Facebook data and completing the first survey
  • $10 for sharing Google/YouTube search history data when you enroll (optional)
  • $10 for completing the survey at 1 month
  • $20 for completing the survey at 2 months
