Brief description of study
The goal of this research is to improve the likelihood of aphasia treatment success by activating brain networks that can compensate for language impairment. We will use non-invasive brain stimulation and gesture-priming paradigms to encourage activation of action knowledge (semantics), which we predict will in turn boost verb retrieval. We will furthermore examine this possibility in patients with anterior versus posterior lesions.
