Brief description of study

We are conducting a study to explore how people’s brains respond when watching and imitating movements performed by humans and robots. The study uses a friendly mobile robot and EEG sensors to measure brain activity during simple hand and arm exercises. We are seeking adults with or without stroke to participate in one or two research sessions (each lasting about 2–3 hours) at the Penn Medicine Rittenhouse campus. During the session, you will watch short videos or live demonstrations of movements and/or try to copy them. Your participation will help us develop better robotic and telehealth tools for stroke rehabilitation and motor recovery. Participants will receive $25 per session (up to $50 total) plus transportation reimbursement.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy, Stroke
  • Age: 18 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All
